How to break free from Feeling Stuck.

a lady stuck in a cob web

👻It's not the monsters under the bed that scare us most ..... it's waking up one day, realizing we've been sleepwalking through life.

Have you ever felt like you’re just going through the motions? Wake up, get ready, handle the same tasks, and by the time your head hits the pillow you think, “Is this it?”

October is a perfect month to talk about this, because just like Halloween masks, we often wear routines that look fine on the outside but keep us stuck underneath.

The good news? You don’t have to drift. You can choose to drive your life forward. 🚗💨

🎃 The Subtle Danger of Drifting

Drifting doesn’t feel scary at first. In fact, it can feel comfortable. Safe. Familiar. But here’s the truth: drifting keeps us in the same place, year after year, with little to no progress.

It’s like being lost in a haunted corn maze; you’re moving, but you’re not getting anywhere.

My clients have found that reflection is a good place to start. As John Maxwell states, "You must know yourself to grow yourself." They have benefited from using the 6-Steps to Getting Unstuck Through Self-Discovery and Personal Growth Free Guide. My clients have found that they feel more in control of where they are going after better understanding themselves.

Crossroads of drifting versus driving

🕸️ Signs You Might Be Stuck

  • You wake up without excitement for the day.

  • You keep saying you’ll make a change “soon”… but nothing shifts.

  • You’re busy, but not fulfilled.

  • Every week feels like the movie Groundhog Day (without the laughs).

👤 How Each DISC Style Drifts Differently

  • Dominant (D): Chasing goals but not feeling satisfied, like collecting candy but never tasting it.

  • Influencing (I): Seeking approval and excitement but not making lasting progress.

  • Steady (S): Staying comfortable, avoiding risk, even when change is needed.

  • Compliant (C): Overthinking every step, stuck in “analysis paralysis.”

Which one sounds like you right now?

🕯️ Breaking the Cycle: How to Take the Driver’s Seat

  1. Get Clear: Write down what you really want. Not what others expect, what you truly desire.

  2. Start Small: Choose one intentional step this week (a conversation, a boundary, a new habit).

  3. Seek Accountability: Find someone who encourages and challenges you. Don’t drift alone.

  4. Celebrate Progress: Every small win builds momentum. 🎉

🧩 Reflection Questions

  • Where in my life am I drifting right now?

  • What’s one step I could take this week to shift from “autopilot” to intentional living?

  • Who could I ask to help keep me accountable?
